Children experience the majority of their socialization at school, and if a child is being cyber-bullied, it’s likely being done by someone from his or her class. Schools should have more control over cyber-bullying policies, since it’s very likely the bullying can occur during school hours. And, in response to being bullied, a child can suffer many negative consequences that include poor academic performance.
This involves the school whether the bullying took place inside of school or not.
Cyber-bullying is very recent but very serious problem, and with cases of suicide connected to cyber-bulling, it shouldn’t be ignored. School administrations should definitely be involved in bullying investigations, and should be given the authority to punish students who harm other students that way.
